Background process to automatically deliver mails

Now I have a job like this: Application have to automatically check for certain condition( access Database table records for checking conditions) and if the condition met, have to deliver mail to mailId specified in a table (stored different mail Ids to different conditions). Regardless of any request reception server have to do this job. As a new .Net developer i know only how to use SMTPMail class and MailMessage class to send a simple mail. But i have no idea about how to make it automatically run in server. Could any one please advice me to proceed this job? I appreciate even a small amount information from you. Thanks in advance. If ur job of sending mails has to run regardless of a request made to the server, then why would you want to use ASP.NET...U might want to create a windows service or a sql job to send emails.....u can use the System.Web.Mail namespace and use SMTPMail and MailMessage classes that belong to the same namesapce in the windows service. or Give the path of the .exe for a job on the sql server Hope this helps!!! Yeah! i posted the same qn in some other groups too.. and i received the same suggestion and the best too. So as per, yeah I have created a Window service to do this task and now it working alright.
