Google, Intel and Cable Companies Ponder Nationwide

Three cable companies, as well as Google and Intel, are in talks with
Sprint and Clearwire, the only two companies in the US committed to
large-scale WiMAX rollouts, aiming at a new joint venture
that would use WiMAX spectrum owned by Sprint and Clearwire
for a nationwide network. The new project is funded by contributions from Google, Intel, Comcast, Bright House, and

Yahoo! Search Open Ecosystem and Semantic Web

Yahoo! announced a concerted effort around their upcoming open search platform to push open web standards including microformats and semantic web formats like RDF and XFN.
By supporting semantic web standards, Yahoo! Search and site owners believe they can bring a far richer and more useful search experience to consumers.

Ext
is a cross-browser JavaScript library for web pages. You can use it to
achieve Web 2.0 effects without writing too much JavaScript code.

Enchant 1.0a! Both projects aim to address the need for a strong set of
UI controls and effects to complement the jQuery JavaScript library.
