Flashmagazine.com has written an interesting preview of the latest version of the Flash family. Now under the flag of Adobe (formerly Macromedia), this version is focused on integration with other Adobe software such as Photoshop and Illustrator.
The workflow has also been streamlined as has the ActionScript panel has also been improved. Last but not least there is a whole new set of components and many other improvements.

According to Cnet.com, Adobe is working on software client-based software that will run Flash applications separately from a browser, whether online or offline. The company is working on a project code-named Apollo, which will let applications written for Adobe's Flash presentation software run without a Web browser.
